Overview

D function brings electrotherapy into the dental and TMJ setting. Its two independently controlled channels deliver three treatment modes: CARE (fixed 0.67 Hz) for pain relief and muscle relaxation around the TMJ, PAIN (up to 200 Hz) for muscle re-education and increased blood flow, and MCR microcurrent (up to 400 Hz) for sensitive skin. Output can be surge, sweep, burst or constant, up to 80 mA peak.

The manufacturer describes use on the TMJ, masseter muscles and cervical spine, before treatment to balance the oral muscles or alongside splint therapy. Single-use electrode pads support hygiene, and the 3.5-inch colour touch screen works with surgical gloves.

The 230 g unit runs on a rechargeable battery or AC adaptor, with a timer up to 60 minutes (480 minutes in MCR mode).

Who it is for: dental clinics, orofacial pain and TMJ specialists, and physiotherapists treating jaw and neck problems in Dubai and the UAE.
