Academic Cognitive Skills Assessment (CSA-ACAD)

The Academic Cognitive Skills Assessment (CSA-ACAD) is based on the principle that the brain is the foundation of learning, not only academic learning but also emotional learning and the way we interpret the world. It applies findings from neuroscience and neuro-imaging research on the relationship between academic subjects and cognitive strengths and weaknesses.

Delivered online, the assessment uses tasks designed to measure how different cognitive abilities perform and reports results linked to academic areas including logic and problem solving, handwriting, reading, oral comprehension and music. It was created by a multidisciplinary team of neuropsychologists, psychologists, doctors, engineers, designers, programmers and scientists coordinated by the CogniFit scientific team, and belongs to the wider Cognitive Skills Assessment (CSA) battery.

The battery reports a test-retest reliability of .76 and an average internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) above .81. It is used by schools, educational psychologists and learning support professionals to guide individual learning plans.
