The HUR Back Extension (STE5320-Hi5) is a pneumatic strength-training machine that targets the back extensor muscles. It isolates the spinal extensors, which makes it useful in low-back rehabilitation programmes.

Like every HUR machine it works with pneumatic (air) resistance instead of a weight stack. Training starts from a near-zero load and is raised in small steps, so frail, post-operative or deconditioned users can begin safely and progress at their own pace. In the SmartTouch version the machine identifies the user, loads their personal programme on the Hi5 touchscreen and records every set; an analogue-display version is also offered.
