Gait Belts, Transfer Boards & Transfer Discs

Not every transfer needs a hoist. Gait belts give the therapist a secure hand-hold around the patient's waist during standing and walking practice. Transfer boards bridge the gap between a wheelchair and a bed, car seat or toilet so a patient can slide across while seated. Transfer discs pivot under the feet or seat to make turning easier and reduce twisting for both patient and carer.

These low-cost aids are used daily in physiotherapy and occupational therapy and are often sent home with patients after discharge.
